You can cancel your DV Ocean subscription at any time. This page explains exactly how to cancel, when the cancellation takes effect, and what happens to your account and remaining minutes afterwards. Cancellation and refunds are two different things — see our refund policy for when money is returned.
1. How to cancel
There are two ways to cancel, and both take effect immediately on our side:
- Self-service (fastest): open your account page and click “Manage subscription”. This opens our payment provider’s secure billing portal, where you can cancel with one click.
- By email: write to support@dv-ocean.com from the email address on your account and ask us to cancel. We action cancellation requests within 2 business days (usually the same day).
2. When cancellation takes effect
Cancellation stops the nextrenewal — it does not cut off your current paid period. You keep full access to the Service and your remaining monthly minutes until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You will not be charged again after you cancel.
Example: if you are on a monthly plan that renews on the 20th and you cancel on the 5th, you keep access and your minutes until the 20th, and no charge is taken on the 20th.
3. What happens to your account after cancellation
- Your account is not deleted — you can sign in, view past projects, and re-subscribe at any time.
- Rendered videos and intermediate artifacts follow the standard 30-day retention window described in our privacy policy. Download anything you want to keep before it expires.
- Unused minutes from your final billing period do not roll over and are not refunded (they were part of the plan you used).
4. Annual plans
Cancelling an annual plan prevents the next annual renewal but does not prorate or refund the remaining months of the current term — you keep access for the full year you paid for. If you cancel an annual plan within the first 7 days and have generated zero video minutes, you may instead be eligible for a full refund under the refund policy.
5. Cancellation vs. refund
Cancelling stops future charges. It does not automatically refund the current period. Refunds are governed separately by our refund policy, which offers a 7-day window for unused subscriptions (zero video minutes generated). Once any render has started, that billing period is non-refundable because every render consumes GPU compute and paid third-party AI quota in real time.
6. Trouble cancelling?
If the billing portal is unavailable or you cannot complete a cancellation for any reason, email support@dv-ocean.comand we will cancel it for you manually. Please contact us before filing a chargeback — we respond to billing requests within 2 business days and can almost always resolve the issue faster than a bank dispute.
